How to set up an office for a company whose service can be used in 160 countries?
And where there are workplaces for 2,000 people… sometimes even twice as many?
Wise's new office in the Volta quarter reflects exactly that international reach and boldness to stand out.
Walking through the office, you'll discover little pieces from many corners of the world - as if strolling down different streets. The main building features a total of 9 unique kitchen-cafés, each with its own personality and flavor. This way, you can take a mini culinary world tour without ever leaving the building.
In addition, 83 meeting rooms - each with its own distinctive name and design - help keep minds fresh and inspired.
But it’s not all work - this office is full of possibilities. There are many special spaces like a gym, wellness area, band room, games area, and more. For us, this big project consisted of many small, unique subprojects where we got to bring lots of dream ideas to life. We've been thrilled to hear feedback that everyone finds their own favorite corner - or even several!
Our project managers also had to put their brains to the test - to keep such a large-scale project on time and within budget meant a lot of Excel spreadsheets. We closely monitored timelines and costs, and continuously applied value engineering techniques together with our partners. It all paid off: the office was actually opened ahead of schedule, and we stayed within budget. A true win-win project for everyone involved.
